Privacy Policy

Effective 21 September 2026

Soft Pace works without an account. Your check-ins, symptoms, preferences, custom activities, plans, activity progress, reflections, Treatment baselines, daily Treatment records and notes are stored locally on your device. Optional app-use analytics help improve the app without including this wellbeing information.

Information handled by the app

Soft Pace lets you enter wellbeing information such as energy, sleep, mental clarity, symptoms, activity preferences and private reflections. The daily planning features process your choices on your device to suggest and track gentle activities.

Treatment Monitor is a separate, optional workflow. It lets you create a personal baseline and record what you notice, functional impact and an optional note. These records are processed on your device to show factual comparisons, recorded-day counts and an appointment summary. Treatment Monitor records are not used to generate your daily plan.

The app does not send your locally stored wellbeing information to the developer. The developer does not sell, rent or use it for advertising or tracking.

Local storage and backups

Soft Pace stores your information in the app’s private storage on your device. You can choose Export backup to create a copy. Backup V2 includes Treatment Monitor records. When you export a backup, you decide where the file is saved or shared. Any copy outside Soft Pace is controlled by the destination you select and is subject to that provider’s privacy practices.

Soft Pace does not upload your wellbeing information to a server, and it does not use iCloud Drive on its own. If iCloud Backup or a computer backup is switched on for your iPhone, iOS may include Soft Pace’s local data in that device backup.

Data retention and deletion

Local information remains until you remove it. You can use Settings → Delete all data to remove Soft Pace’s locally stored records and reset its preferences. This also starts a new anonymous analytics identifier.

Resetting all data restores analytics to its default enabled setting. You can turn it off again in Settings → Share anonymous app use.

Deleting local data or resetting the identifier does not delete analytics already transmitted to TelemetryDeck, exported backup files, or copies held in an iPhone or computer backup. You manage those backup copies through the destination or backup service.

You can also delete the app from your device. Deleting the app may remove its local information, but copies may remain in previously exported files or device backups. Because the developer does not receive your locally stored wellbeing data, the developer cannot retrieve or delete it remotely.

Analytics, advertising and tracking

Soft Pace uses TelemetryDeck for privacy-preserving app-use analytics to understand which features are used and improve the app. Analytics is enabled by default. You can stop future collection through Settings → Share anonymous app use. Turning it off does not prevent you from using the app.

Each installation has a random identifier created on the device and hashed before transmission. It is not your name, email, Apple ID or advertising identifier. It allows app-use events from an installation to be grouped without sending your contact details.

Signals describe app actions such as opening the app, finishing onboarding, starting or completing a check-in, creating or using a plan, choosing rest or suggestions, starting a timer, recording an activity outcome, saving a reflection, or importing or exporting a backup. A signal that a reflection was saved does not include the reflection itself.

We also measure whether people create their first plan, create another plan on a different day, and return after one or seven days. These signals use broad categories such as new or existing usage, first or second plan, and elapsed-day groups. Dates stored locally for these calculations are not included in the app-defined analytics parameters.

Analytics does not include energy level, sleep, mental clarity, symptoms, Treatment baselines, daily Treatment records, functional-impact answers, activity names or descriptions, reflections, notes, backup contents, or other user-entered text.

TelemetryDeck also attaches technical details such as app version, iOS version, device model, language, display and accessibility settings, and similar SDK metadata. According to TelemetryDeck’s documentation, event timestamps are rounded to the nearest hour and IP addresses are not stored.

Previously transmitted analytics may remain with TelemetryDeck after you turn analytics off or delete local app data. TelemetryDeck’s published retention practices do not specify a guaranteed deletion date for stored events. See its privacy and retention explanation for more information.

Soft Pace does not connect analytics identifiers to support email addresses or your locally stored wellbeing records. Analytics is not used for advertising or cross-app tracking.

When you contact support

You can contact the developer using the email address on the Support page. You decide what to include. Sending an email reveals your email address and any information you include to the recipient and the email services handling it. The app does not automatically attach your records, reflections or backup files.

Support emails are used only to respond to your request and are deleted from the developer’s mailbox when no longer reasonably needed. Do not send health information, private reflections or exported Soft Pace backup files.

Contacting support does not enrol you in research. Any future voluntary research invitation would explain its purpose and data handling separately.

Legal basis and privacy rights

Where data-protection law applies, support emails are processed to respond to your request and for the developer’s legitimate interests in providing support and maintaining the app’s security and reliability. If you have a privacy question or request concerning support correspondence, contact appsbyjing@gmail.com. Where applicable, you also have the right to contact your local data-protection authority.

Children

Soft Pace is not directed to children and is not intended for the App Store Kids Category.

Wellbeing and medical safety

Soft Pace is a general wellbeing tool. Treatment Monitor records what you enter and shows factual comparisons with your saved baseline and records. It does not interpret those records, diagnose conditions, assess treatment effectiveness or provide medical guidance. Use your usual healthcare and emergency contacts for health concerns. Stop an activity if it causes pain or makes you feel unwell.

Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated if the app, website or data practices change. Material changes will be communicated through the app, this website or the App Store listing before they take effect where reasonably possible. The effective date above identifies the current version.
